Love Gary Paulsen's adult books. He tells a great story, can be hilariously funny and doesn't whitewash the realities of wild animals or living in nature. Each chapter tells its own story, but the book comes full circle. Listened to it while traveling which was a great choice. Just wish it was longer. Check out his "Angel Peterson" book or "My Life In Dog Years" - great for adults and Angel Peterson had us in stitches!

I thought I had read every Gary Paulson book but found this one I missed a few years ago. These animal,stories are amazing, and show,the true spirit of animals and that they deserve our care and respect.

I've read aloud several of the stories to my students. Gary Paulsen provides enough background for students to become quickly engaged and the lessons he describes are easily grasped. I think Mr. Paulsen shines with his short stories.

Love real-life experiences from Gary Paulson! GREAT writer. I love his "first person" stuff....read all of them. Give to friends. Highly recommend

Great book by a favorite, Gary Paulsen. It chronicles his personal 'animal' experiences which made me laugh and sometimes cry. Couldn't put it down. Read it on a 3 hour flight. You won't be disappointed.

Loved this book! From fierce poodles to laughing dinosaurs this is an excellent quick read.

Gary Paulsen is a superb writer and this book doesn't disappoint. He makes you think about things you might never otherwise realize. Mr. Paulsen has an amazing communication with animals and an amazing ability to put that into words. Thought provoking, beautifully written and entertaining. He can make you think and then make you laugh out loud. Great book for middle school through adult reading.
